CM Eugene Hua
Eugene is a Candidate Master (CM) and a National Master (NM) and has been actively playing chess since the age of 9. He was the Canadian Champion for U14 in 2016 and has participated in multiple World Youth Chess Championships in various countries around the world. Eugene is currently a top 5 junior in Canada. In 2017, Eugene will be representing Canada in the upcoming World Youth U-16 Chess Olympiad in India as the top board player in the team event. Eugene has been providing chess instructions at the Waterdown Chess Club for over 2 years and has experience providing both individual and group lessons.
NCM Benito Surya
Benito is a National Candidate Master (NCM) and an active player in the chess community. He started his chess career at Mississauga Chess Club and is the current Mississauga Chess Champion having won the tournament in 2016. Benito represented Canada in the World Youth Chess Championship in 2013 and 2015. Benito has experience providing both individual and group lessons.
Gary has been involved in chess organization in Canada for several years and has years of coaching and training experience. Gary is an active player with CFC rating of over 1500.
Ferdinand is an experienced chess instructor and coach with several years of experience teaching both individual and group lessons. Ferdinand is also an active chess player with great tournament record over the last decade. In 2017, Ferdinand finished in 1st place in the following recently completed tournaments: Toronto Open U1800; Annual Washington International (MAryland) U1800 and the 9th Annual Chesapeake (Maryland) U1800.
Jelvis Arandela Calvelo
Jelvis is a successful Head Coach and trainer and has led many chess programs at various colleges to top place finishes in various chess championships. Jelvis is an experienced chess coach and instructor and has many years of experience providing both individual and group lessons.
Mikhail is a chess coach with over 9 years teaching experience at the National level. He has coached many successful students who have won many National titles. Mikhail has represented Canada as one of the official coaches for the Canadian Youth team at the World Youth Chess Championship in 2011, 2015, 2016 and 2017.
Ken has several years of experience teaching and coaching chess. He is an active chess player with a CFC rating of over 1700.
